Job Summary
House Parent role forMilton Hershey School involves living in on-campus student homes as part of a two-person, married-couple team. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring a group of about 813 students, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and participating in Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from a Flex Houseparent to a Placed Houseparent. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license with eligibility to drive student home vans, and a commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. The role initially follows a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with relocation assistance provided. The position is full-time and offers comprehensive benefits and per-couple compensation with on-campus housing and meals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; model behavior for students
- Willingness to reside and work on-campus with students
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs
- Complete individual employment applications for both spouses
