Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School (Hershey, PA) for married couples living on campus. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship of a group of about 813 students, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from a nine-on/three-off schedule to a placed houseparent role with the same student group. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided; salary per person is $44,768 with total compensation around $168,000 per couple.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
