Job Summary
Two-person Full-Time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, and provide care, mentorship, supervision, and support for 8–13 students in a home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine days on / three days off schedule and transitions to a Placed Houseparent position with a stable student-home assignment. Relocation assistance is provided, along with comprehensive benefits. Minimum qualifications include experience with youth, a two-spouse, married-for-two-years requirement, age 27 or older for both spouses, high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
