Job Summary
House Parent - Full-time Flex position for married couples at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, mentorship, and support for a large residential group of students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental/recreational activities, leading devotions and Chapel attendance, and budgeting/house reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. The compensation per person is $44,768 annually (approx. $168,000 per couple) plus relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for legally married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor students
- Willingness to reside in on-campus student homes
