Job Summary
House Parent role for married couples at Milton Hershey School on campus in Hershey, PA. Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes, supervise and mentor a group of about 813 students, manage daily routines and transportation, administer medications, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and transition from nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off to a placed houseparent configuration with the same student home. This role includes relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training. Requires two married spouses (both must apply), strong youth experience, a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
