Job Summary
Greet patrons entering the theatre and lounge, answer questions about upcoming performances, and manage up to six volunteer ushers. Process cash and credit card transactions, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and verify patron identification. Complete House Manager and Bartender reports, secure the building, and clean public spaces as needed. Maintain communication with Box Office and Stage Management to support prompt performance starts. This seasonal, part-time role averages 10 to 20 hours per performance week with evening and weekend availability through late June 2027. Compensation is $16.00 per hour plus tips.
Required Qualifications
- Availability for flexible evening and weekend hours based on the theatre's performance schedule
- This role requires frequent movement between multiple buildings on City Theatre's campus, climbing stairs, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 40 lbs
- Current certification in Pennsylvania's Responsible Alcohol Management Program (R.A.M.P.) or the ability to complete the online R.A.M.P. training course within 30 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Bar knowledge and cash-handling experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- A love or appreciation of theatre/the arts
