Job Summary
Clean and maintain all corridors, vending areas, elevators, landings, and service areas on guest room floors while ensuring hotel standards of cleanliness. Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests, transport guest laundry and dry cleaning to rooms, and handle guest requests for shoeshines as assigned. Stock floor closets and linen carts, remove dirty linen and glassware to laundry and stewards, and replenish supplies according to diagrams. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas, including wiping down vending and laundry machines, dusting woodwork, and polishing brass surfaces. Resolve guest complaints, ensure security of keys and beeper, and report furniture damages or maintenance problems to the Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal
- Ability to count
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or minimum of six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write in the basic English language
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must be available to work, varied shifts and flexible schedules
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in cleaning public buildings
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling
- Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish
- Experience in hospitality industry in similar position
- Previous guest relations training
- Previous hospitality experience in a Four Star quality organization preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must have valid driver's license
