Job Summary
Summer Branding Iron Digital Editor oversees the Branding Iron Online publication. Responsibilities include attending weekly meetings, working in the office at least 15 hours weekly (at least 8 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mon–Fri), posting articles and photos to the website at least twice weekly, adding multimedia content (photos, SoundSlides, audio, video, podcasts), coordinating with Student Media advertising sales staff for paid ads, delegating work to assistants, managing Branding Iron social media accounts, attending Student Media Board meetings as ex-officio, serving as a liaison with the Communication and Journalism Department and other managers, supervising online production and deadlines, and performing other duties. Minimum qualifications: Full-time student, 2.5 GPA, web design skills, audio/video editing basics, newspaper experience including reporting, and availability to start June 5, 2026. On-campus location in Laramie, WY.
Required Qualifications
- Full-time student
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Firm grasp of Web design software and techniques
- Basic understanding of audio and video editing
- Newspaper experience, including writing news stories
- Must be available to start work June 5, 2026
Desired Qualifications
- Some supervisory experience
- Basic knowledge of what goes into a good newspaper story, as well as other newspaper editorial content
- Some prior newspaper experience
- Knowledge of AP style or willingness to learn
