Job Summary
Maintain established sales quotas by advising customers on home furnishings quality, style, and value while resolving delivery complaints and managing credit applications. Set up advertising displays, stock sales floors, and place price tags on merchandise to promote promotions. Process sales orders, calculate discounts, and verify prices while maintaining accurate customer records and activity in the CRM system. Make telemarketing calls, handle inquiries in person or via phone, and attend scheduled sales meetings. Clean and maintain assigned sales areas, inspect displays, and document delivery or pickup times with customer signatures. Compose thank-you notes and process various documentation and reports as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- six months experience in practical retail sells
- ability to review, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data
- ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations
- ability to operate equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments
- ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and/or descriptive data and information
- ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to calculate decimals and percentages
- ability to utilize principles of fractions
- ability to interpret graphs
- ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
- ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of predefined duties which are often characterized by frequent change
- ability to exert moderate physical effort
- ability to climb and balance
- ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects and materials of moderate weight (12-50 pounds)
- ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues or signals
- ability to communicate orally
- exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, temperature extremes, electric currents or toxic agents/chemicals
