Job Summary
Maintain established sales quotas by advising customers on home furnishings quality and style, verifying prices, calculating discounts, and placing tags on merchandise. Set up advertising displays, stock sales areas, and handle pick-ups with customer signatures while resolving delivery complaints for damaged items. Conduct telemarketing prospecting calls using CRM systems to maintain accurate customer records and handle inquiries via phone or in person. Attend sales meetings, process documentation and reports, and adhere to display and customer service standards. Perform moderate physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, and balancing to maintain cleanliness and order. Work hourly with commission, requiring moderate physical effort and exposure to environmental conditions like dust or temperature extremes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- six months experience in practical retail sells
- any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position
- ability to review, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data
- ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations
- ability to operate equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments
- ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and/or descriptive data and information
- ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to calculate decimals and percentages
- ability to utilize principles of fractions
- ability to interpret graphs
- ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
- ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of predefined duties which are often characterized by frequent change
- ability to exert moderate physical effort, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- ability to lift, carry, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-50 pounds)
- ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues or signals
- ability to communicate orally
- exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, temperature extremes, electric currents or toxic agents/chemicals
