Job Summary
The Hourly Bus Operator will drive a transit bus on campus and city streets to transport members of the campus community and the general public on fixed scheduled routes. Responsibilities include performing pre-operational safety checks, recording daily service statistics, and maintaining reliable attendance. Candidates must be able to pass a DOT physical exam and possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a valid driver's license required. Preferred qualifications include a commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B or higher with Passenger Endorsement, and experience operating large transit vehicles.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to pass DOT physical examination and obtain a DOT medical examiners certificate
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
- Age 18 or older
- A valid Driver’s License in good standing
Desired Qualifications
- CDL Class B or higher with Passenger Endorsement
- Experience operating a large 35 and 40-foot transit vehicle on city streets in fixed route service
