Job Summary
Greets, registers, and suggests room upgrades to guests while issuing keys, assigning rooms, and setting wake-up calls in a friendly manner. Acts as the on-duty hotel manager, balancing daily accounts, entering changes, and ensuring night audit procedures, reports, and system resets are accurate and timely. Manages guest safety by following security protocols, date stamps incoming mail, and communicates special requests or problems to appropriate departments. Answers inquiries regarding hotel services, local attractions, and travel directions, while accurately checking out guests, collecting payments, and confirming reservations. Maintains the shift log, ensures lobby cleanliness, handles laundry storage, and deposits valuables in accordance with KHC policies and cash handling procedures.

- Must be able to greet, register, suggestively sell hotel rooms, issue room keys, assign rooms to guests and set wake up calls in an efficient, warm and friendly manner
- Must be able to act as hotel manager on duty
- Must be able to follow prescribed MOD procedures on communication, emergency procedures and guest satisfaction
- Must be able to enter daily changes and balance accounts such as guest, house, guest tray, city ledger and advance deposits
- Must be able to reset system for the next business day
- Must be able to ensure night audit procedures are completed on a daily basis
- Must be able to ensure information entered and posted are accurate, balanced and timely
- Must be able to enter information and print night audit reports in an accurate and timely manner per night audit guidelines
- Must be able to ensure guest safety
- Must be able to date stamps, sort, and rack incoming mail, faxes and messages
- Must be able to record and communicate guest special requests and problems to appropriate department
- Must be able to answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests; and local attractions
- Must be able to provide travel directions
- Must be able to accurately check out guests and communicate departures with housekeeping staff
- Must be able to accurately compute bill, collect payment, make change for guests and make deposits according to KHC cash handling procedures
- Must be able to make, confirm and cancel reservations via telephone, computer and in writing
- Must be able to answer and route internal and external phone calls in an articulate, friendly manner using prescribed procedures
- Must be able to post charges such as hotel room, food, liquor, or telephone to ledger
- Must be able to deposit guests' valuables in hotel safe or safe deposit box
- Must be able to maintain the shift-to-shift log accurately
- Must be able to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hotel lobby and front desk area
- Must be able to wash, fold and properly store laundry
