Job Summary
Maintenance Engineer role focused on the upkeep of the hotel’s building, equipment, and physical assets. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing equipment and facilities (painting, wallpaper repair, tub/sink repairs, wiring/outlet/bulb replacements, woodworking, concrete and tile repairs), performing preventative maintenance on guest rooms and equipment (including laundry, HVAC, ice machines, spa equipment, fire safety devices, and plumbing), pool and spa maintenance, outdoor seasonal tasks (lawn care and snow removal), maintaining the engineering shop, logging readings from meters and gauges, communicating room status changes to Front Desk and Housekeeping, maintaining knowledge of Fire Alarms/Life Safety Systems and handling emergencies, assisting other departments with moving/furnishings, and providing safe guest transportation using the hotel shuttle. Requires 3-6 months related experience and a 1-year college/technical certificate or equivalent, strong teamwork and communication, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 6 months related experience in engineering and maintenance or related area
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
