Job Summary
The Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the upkeep and repair of hotel facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff. Key duties include performing routine inspections, troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, and coordinating with contractors for specialized repairs. Candidates should have a solid background in maintenance engineering within the hospitality industry, with expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule. Relevant certifications and a commitment to safety and sustainability are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a maintenance engineer or similar role in the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions efficiently
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Familiarity with safety and building codes
- Mechanical knowledge and at least 1 year prior experience in relevant field
- Electrical, plumbing and carpentry experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and maintenance tasks
- Customer service experience in a field service setting
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant technical certification or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or facilities management
- Certification or experience in industrial electrician work
