Job Summary
Conduct highly skilled maintenance and repair for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, including installing, adjusting, modifying, and replacing parts. Diagnose faults, implement preventative methods, and test safety systems like emergency lighting while adhering to Fire, Health & Safety, and Hygiene regulations. Respond promptly to guest requests and alarms, perform regular inspections of working orders, and monitor building systems to ensure property standards. Collaborate with engineering staff on loss prevention guidelines and assist with the annual budget and preventive maintenance programs. Maintain high personal grooming standards and comply with all hotel regulations to support safe, efficient operations.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years experience in a similar role
- Hold a degree qualification with at least one year's work experience
- Must have good communication and customer service skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and speak English/Spanish
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests and supervisors
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to compute rates, ratio, and percent
- Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Demonstrated engineering skills
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues
- Refrigeration skills
- Electrical skills
- Plumbing skills
- Boiler operation and maintenance skills
- Water treatment operation knowledge
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must be able to sit or stand as needed for an extended period of time
- Must be able to reach above shoulder heights, below the waist
- Must be able to lift as required
- Proper lifting techniques required
- Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Must be able to use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection
