Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary
Ensure guest and employee safety through proper maintenance of building systems and facilities by responding promptly to requests for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural issues. Develop and manage a preventive maintenance program while performing carpentry, painting, and renovation tasks. Monitor energy conservation measures, oversee fire safety equipment, and maintain pool equipment including chemical balance and logs. Supervise maintenance technicians, manage work orders, and conduct daily facility inspections to identify potential issues. Coordinate with the General Manager for vendor projects and maintain accurate records of all activities.
Required Qualifications
- Be able to manage time effectively, complete required tasks on time
- Strong understand of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
- Must be a team player
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
- At least 2 years of experience in a hotel environment at the Engineer level required
- HVAC certified, Pool certified, Technician certified and/or combination preferred
- Stable work history required
