Hotel Lead Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary
Lead Maintenance Engineer responsible for the proper working order of all hotel assets and for coordinating the activities of the Engineering staff. Responsibilities include reviewing and reporting on preventative maintenance across property areas (grounds, guest rooms, common areas, pools, equipment, systems), maintaining maintenance schedules for public spaces and guest rooms, managing inventory of equipment and supplies, training and mentoring engineering staff in skilled troubleshooting (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and other techniques), coordinating work orders, troubleshooting and repairing equipment and facilities (including painting, wallpaper, tub/sink repair, wiring, woodworking, concrete and tile work), performing preventative maintenance on guest rooms and equipment (laundry, HVAC, ice machines, spa equipment, fire safety, sprinklers, kitchen appliances, plumbing), maintaining pool/spa equipment per manufacturer specs, assisting with outdoor seasonal work, ensuring shop cleanliness, logging readings from meters and gauges, communicating room status changes with Front Desk and Housekeeping, maintaining knowledge of Fire/Life Safety Systems and handling emergencies, and assisting other departments with moving furniture and storing supplies.
Required Qualifications
- 6 months to 1 year related experience in engineering and maintenance or related area
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work as part of a team and complete tasks individually
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
