Job Summary
As General Manager at a Courtyard by Marriott property, lead operations across all hotel departments to drive profitability and guest satisfaction, with direct accountability for revenue and expense goals, brand standards, and cross-department collaboration. Responsibilities include analyzing financial reports (P&L, forecasts, payroll performance), leading revenue optimization to maximize occupancy and room revenue, partnering with sales and marketing to grow market share, recruiting and developing high-performing hospitality teams, ensuring service excellence and accountability, maintaining executive presence across the property, and fostering relationships with local businesses and partners to support community engagement and brand strength.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of progressive hotel management experience, including at least two years serving as an Assistant General Manager, Hotel Manager, or Director of Operations with direct P&L accountability and cross-departmental oversight.
- Previous hotel leadership experience with increasing levels of operational responsibility.
- Proven success in driving financial performance and guest satisfaction metrics.
- Experience leading, developing, and motivating diverse teams.
- Strong business acumen and operational decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities.
- Preferred Qualifications: Marriott brand experience; Multi-department hotel management experience; Food & Beverage leadership experience; Experience navigating hotel operations through periods of elevated change (renovations, brand transitions, ownership shifts)
