Job Summary
Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner, completing accurate check-ins, checkouts, room assignments, and payment processing. Answer incoming telephone calls, respond to guest questions, and assist with hotel information, directions, local recommendations, and special requests. Make, modify, and review hotel reservations while maintaining accurate guest accounts, payment information, and shift records. Communicate maintenance, housekeeping, and guest-service needs to the appropriate departments, keep the Front Desk and lobby clean and organized, and follow procedures regarding guest privacy, security, cash handling, and credit-card processing. Assist other departments when necessary and complete additional duties assigned by hotel management. Work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Basic computer and data-entry skills
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to professionally resolve guest concerns
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Friendly and outgoing personality
- Familiarity with hospitality industry standards
- Computer literacy
- Able to resolve issues with a customer-focused orientation
Desired Qualifications
- Previous hotel, customer-service, retail, or hospitality experience
- Familiar with Opera PMS
- Familiar with IHG Hotels and/or Holiday Inn Express
- Knowledge of other languages
