Hotel Controller

Job Summary
Direct and oversee all financial operations of the hotel as part of the leadership team; supervise the accounting and finance functions (accounts receivable/payable, auditing, payroll, general accounting, cashiers); plan and implement financial procedures and systems; prepare financial analyses and reports on hotel operations; lead budgeting and forecasting; ensure regulatory compliance and timely government reporting; maintain contracts, insurance, and tax documentation; develop short- and long-term financial plans aligned with StepStone objectives; participate in the Executive committee and contribute to strategic financial decisions; requires hotel/hospitality industry experience and proficiency with accounting software (M3 Accounting Core, Profitsword), Excel, and Paylocity.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4-6 years of related experience in accounting, finance, or corporate planning
- Hotel or hospitality industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience working decentralized
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations
- Must have exceptional mathematical and computer skills
- College education and relevant training and experience required
- Additional education preferred
- Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates
- Occasional travel required
- Software Experience Preferred: M3 Accounting Core, Profitsword, Microsoft Excel, Paylocity
