Job Summary
Hotel Assistant Front Office Manager assists the Front Office Manager with task assignment and shift coverage, fields guest complaints, answers inquiries, and oversees PBX, Front Desk, Guest Services, and Bell Person staff. Responsible for training new employees, maintaining security procedures, creating and maintaining department schedules, ensuring front desk coverage, performing bookkeeping, reservations, and clerical duties, and filling in for night auditor and other front desk positions as needed. Requires excellent communication, organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, knowledge of Memphis local attractions, discretion and confidentiality, supervisory abilities, and prior guest service/front desk experience. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as required; valid driver’s license; hotel operation experience or equivalent education in hotel management/business administration; equal opportunity employer; background check and pre-employment drug test required.
Required Qualifications
- previous guest service/front desk experience required
- aptitude for supervisory responsibilities including performance appraisals, assigning tasks, motivating employees and encouraging employee development
- valid driver’s license is required
- hotel operation experience and/or equivalent education in hotel management/business administration
- hospitality field or equivalent work-related experience is required
