Hot Melt Machine Operator

Job Summary

Set up, operate, and monitor pleating and filter assembly machines, adjusting parameters like pleat height, spacing, tension, and adhesive application to meet product specifications. Load raw materials including filter media, frames, and adhesives, then inspect finished filters for defects, uniformity, and dimensional accuracy. Identify non-conforming materials, perform routine equipment checks and minor maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical or process issues. Accurately complete production records and logs while following SOPs and safety guidelines. Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and production teams to meet daily output goals and support continuous improvement initiatives. Work 8–12 hour shifts in an industrial facility producing filtration products, lifting up to 40 lbs with required PPE.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–3 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and product specifications
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8–12 hour shifts)

  • Required use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with pleating or automated assembly equipment
  • Experience operating hot melt or similar pleating/mini-pleat equipment
  • Background in air filtration manufacturing
  • Familiarity with production tracking systems (ERP)
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Six Sigma experience
