Hot Heading/ Forging Operator - 1st shift

Job Summary
Operate various hot heading machines to forge metal parts to print specifications, ensuring compliance with quality standards using precision measuring instruments. Responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings, maintaining equipment, ensuring material availability, and adhering to safety regulations. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to read in English, and knowledge of machining high-strength materials. Participation in team activities for process improvement is essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, equivalent or GED
- Ability to visually inspect for cracks or other defects
- Ability to suggest tooling improvements to Engineering for process/method improvements
- Ability to fluently read and follow instructions in English
- Ability to interpret prints and engineering drawings
- Ability to perform machining on a variety of high strength materials (Inconel, A286, Stainless, 300M, 15-5, etc)
- Knowledge of tooling to achieve consistent quality results
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments
- Must read, understand, refer to and interpret Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) dimensioning and third view projection blueprints
Desired Qualifications
- One to two years of machine shop experience
- Experience in an Aerospace manufacturing environment preferred
- Bilingual - English and Spanish
