Job Summary
Hot Foods Clerk in a grocery setting with responsibility for customer service and the hot foods department. Duties include receiving, stocking, preparing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, rotating, and merchandising items such as fried foods, rotisserie items, pizza, Panini’s, and tacos; assisting customers at the service counter; ensuring sanitation and temperature log compliance; and maintaining department organization. Requires knowledge of sanitation/food handling regulations, strong communication and math skills, ability to work independently or with a team, and flexibility to work varied shifts. Starting hourly wages align with local minimums and vary by location; overtime eligibility applies.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Sanitation and Food Handling certification(s) as required by City of Chicago and State of Illinois
- 5-7 years of experience in grocery store or similar environment
- Proficient computer and math skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods; lift 50-75 lbs; work flexible schedule including weekends/holidays
