Job Summary
Conduct pre-tip inspections involving brake adjustments, crawling under trailers, and performing 5th wheel adjustments. Operate yard goat equipment to crank landing gear, open trailer doors, and connect air-lines and electrical plugs for every trailer move. Handle loose cargo weighing up to 75 lbs, sweep floors, and use bolt cutters to remove security seals. Communicate with dispatchers, office staff, and customers while filling out paperwork. Work Sunday through Thursday from 7:30 PM to 4:00 AM with possible overtime, managing up to 80 moves per night.
Required Qualifications
- Must be available for Sunday through Thursday 7:30 PM to 4:00 AM shifts
- Must be available for possible overtime
- Must be able to lift loose/fallen cargo weighing up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to crank/spin landing gear handles with heavy force
- Must be able to open and close trailer doors using latches and handles requiring force
- Must be able to perform 5th wheel adjustments requiring heavy force
- Must be able to climb into trailers at minimum 4-1/2 feet off the ground
- Must be able to use heavy duty bolt cutter to cut bolt security seals
- Must be able to bend knees and crawl under trailers for pre-tip inspections
- Must be able to step on rear deck of tractor/yard goat to connect and disconnect air-lines and 7 way electrical plugs
