Job Summary
Host / Maitre D’ Assistant provides a warm, gracious welcome from arrival through departure, manages reservations and dining room pacing to support seamless service, strategizes seating flow, answers phones with professionalism, communicates with the front-of-house team, maintains guest notes and preferences, assists with guest recovery, and demonstrates strong knowledge of menu offerings, restaurant layout, and service standards. The role requires professionalism, clear communication, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn within a fine dining environment, with English and Japanese language skills considered a plus. Responsibilities also include supporting leadership with opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks and upholding hospitality and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Fine dining experience preferred
- Minimum 3 months of hospitality experience preferred
- Strong understanding of the sequence of service
- Passion for hospitality, food, and beverage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain composed and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to continuously learn and improve
- Bilingual in English and Japanese is a plus
- Certification for food handling as required by state and local regulations
