Job Summary
Host/Hostess greets and seats guests in a friendly, courteous manner; assists other service personnel to ensure total guest satisfaction; handles initial beverage orders, describes promotions, and maintains an inviting dining area. Responsibilities include managing guest waiting lists, ensuring proper seating rotation, handling cash and transactions with safe cash handling procedures, operating the POS system, attending to guest needs throughout the dining experience, and upholding Denny’s Brand Standards and guiding principles. Requires basic math, ability to stand for long periods, mobility in the work area, ability to lift up to 30 lbs, and flexibility to work holidays, nights, and weekends. Strong guest service, teamwork, and communication skills are essential, along with adherence to health regulations and ability to observe monetary denominations and to-go order processing.
Required Qualifications
- Must have ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Meets Denny’s uniform and grooming standards and maintains them throughout the shift
- Must be able to work flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends
- Must have excellent guest service skills
- Must be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions
- Must place a value on diversity and shows respect for others
