Job Summary
Host/Hostess at Denny’s: greet and seat guests in a friendly, courteous manner; assist other service personnel to ensure guest satisfaction; respond to guest concerns; describe promotions and suggestively sell while seating guests; handle initial beverage orders and basic cash transactions; maintain guest wait lists and adhere to seating procedures; support team members and uphold Denny’s Guiding Principles; essential functions include lifting up to 25 lbs, standing/walking through shift, operating a POS, basic math, and flexible scheduling including holidays, nights, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to work flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends
- Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
- Must be able to operate point of sale system
- Must be able to observe and differentiate between monetary denominations
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk for entire shift
