Job Summary
The Host/Hostess greets guests upon arrival and seats them at clean, dry tables using proper seating rotation, acknowledges guests at departure, and assists other service personnel to ensure total guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include maintaining the guest waiting list, describing promotions and suggesting beverages while seating guests, taking initial beverage orders, answering guest concerns, and providing courteous service in alignment with Denny’s Guiding Principles. The role requires safe cash handling in accordance with policy, accurate cash/credit/discount transactions, and operating the point of sale system. The Host/Hostess supports team members, handles To Go orders, maintains a welcoming foyer, and demonstrates strong menu knowledge and product awareness. Essential physical demands include lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, stooping, standing, walking for the shift, and performing basic math. Compliance with health regulations and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends, are required. The position emphasizes teamwork, respect for diversity, and adherence to brand standards and policies throughout the shift.
