Job Summary
Host/Hostess greets and seats guests in a friendly and courteous manner, responds to guest concerns, assists other service personnel to provide total guest satisfaction, and processes initial beverage orders. Responsibilities include maintaining a guest waiting list, describing promotions and suggesting beverages while seating guests, performing cash handling and operating the point-of-sale system, and ensuring a clean and inviting dining area. Must demonstrate knowledge of the menu, follow safety and health regulations, work well in a team, and uphold Denny’s Guiding Principles while delivering courteous service throughout the dining experience. The role requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs, stand for long periods, and adapt to a flexible schedule including holidays, nights, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Must have ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Meets Denny’s uniform and grooming standards and maintains them throughout the shift
- Must be able to work flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends
- Must have excellent guest service skills
