Job Summary
Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, guide them to seating or rooms, and manage reservations and waitlists while answering inquiries about the venue and services. Coordinate with waitstaff and kitchen teams to ensure smooth operations, address minor guest complaints, and maintain cleanliness in the lobby or reception area. Transport supplies, move furniture and equipment, assist with room and event setup, and replenish stock of linens and materials as needed. Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be eligible to work in Canada full-time.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., hospitality, retail, or events)
- Physical strength and stamina to assist with carrying and moving heavy items
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed
- A professional and approachable attitude
- Should be eligible to work in Canada full-time
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a friendly demeanor while interacting with guests
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (e.g., luggage, furniture) and be on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Careful and thorough approach to managing guest needs and maintaining the venue
- Able to resolve minor guest complaints or concerns efficiently
- Efficiently managing time to balance hosting duties and porter responsibilities
- Ability to collaborate with both front-of-house (guest-facing) and back-of-house (staff) teams
Desired Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in hospitality is an asset
- Hospitality experience is an asset
