HOST Peer Support Specialist

Job Summary
Engage HOST participants into intensive services using lived recovery experience and formal training to assertively connect individuals with community housing and behavioral health providers. Provide outreach and engagement in clinics, shelters, jails, and encampments to screen participants, build rapport, and assist with immediate needs while advocating for access to community resources. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary clinical and case management teams to stabilize participants and facilitate transitions to long-term care, integrating personal experience with mental illness or substance use into support efforts. Serve 25 or fewer persons across Snohomish and Skagit County areas, with some evening hours as needed. Requires valid Peer Support Specialist Certification and active Washington State driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- lived experience of recovery from mental illness and/or substance use and addiction
- skills learned in formal training
- valid Peer Support Specialist Certification from the WA Dept of Health
- Active Washington State driver's license
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
Desired Qualifications
- AA or BA
- Knowledge of de-escalation skills, crisis intervention & stabilization, and harm reduction strategies
