Job Summary
Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival, manage reservations and waitlists using the booking system, and coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover. Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow, address guest inquiries and concerns professionally, and escalate issues when necessary. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and entrance area, while assisting with opening and closing duties as required. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to stand for extended periods during flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
- Basic computer skills to manage reservations and seating charts.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working as a host or in a similar front-of-house role in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Familiarity with reservation management software such as OpenTable or Resy.
- Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
- Conflict resolution skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of local dining trends and customer service best practices.
