Job Summary
Greet guests, seat them at tables according to rotation, and manage wait lists via paper or electronic applications. Record to-go orders, process POS transactions including gift cards, and answer calls or transfer inquiries using the paging system. Proactively prepare for large parties, maintain contact with kitchen and serving teams to address concerns, and inspect dining areas for cleanliness and setup. Act as a resource for guests regarding promotions, menus, and hours. Perform assigned tasks such as sweeping, restocking, checking restrooms, bus tables, and refilling ice or washing glassware.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to walk and stand 100%
- Must be able to operate cash register and POS system and make correct change 50% of the time
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, and lift up to 30 pounds 25% of the time
- Must be able to navigate steps if applicable to the location
- Must be able to display a high standard of friendliness, patience, enthusiasm, energy and professionalism
- Must be able to maintain an upbeat, guest-first, positive attitude
- Must be able to adhere to the Samy's Old Chicago Appearance Standards
- Must be able to successfully complete hourly position validations, including company-required training programs (i.e. safety, systems, menu)
- Must be able to pass alcohol certification (ServSafe) within 60 days of employment
