Job Summary

Host at IHOP responsible for greeting guests, taking and relaying orders, delivering food and drinks via the team delivery system, and maintaining a courteous, upbeat dining environment. Duties include assisting guests with questions and suggestions, communicating with service bar and kitchen via POS, observing guests and handling special requests, assisting with clearing and resetting dining room tables, and adhering to safety and sanitation procedures. Eligibility for tip sharing is noted where applicable; benefits include health and dental insurance for full-time roles, with flexible scheduling and growth opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required
  • Mobility required during the entire shift
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry typical restaurant items (e.g., dish racks, trash bags)
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety rules and procedures
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off of the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant
  • Transports plates, glasses and baskets to and from dining room, service bar, and the kitchen about 30 times per shift
  • Eligible to participate in the restaurant’s Service Tip Fund / tip share program
