Job Summary
Greet patients, deliver appropriate menus, and explain the Room Service process to patients and families. Assist patients with ordering meals, assemble and/or deliver trays, and stock unit floor kitchens with par levels. Act as liaison between the patient, dietary department, and nursing staff to communicate food needs, while ensuring satisfaction with all meals and snacks. Perform daily dishroom duties and maintain effective communication with nursing staff, dietitians, and customer service specialists. Requires understanding of modified diets and successful completion of Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances within 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Good reading and writing skills
- Good comprehension skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, nursing staff, customer service specialists, dietitians, and other dietary production and transport staff
- Excellent customer service and telephone skills
- Understanding of modified diets
- Successful completion of Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances within 90 days of commencing employment, if applicable

- Previous work experience in patient services
