Job Summary
Greet guests with a warm smile, calculate accurate wait times, and escort them to tables while managing seating preferences and special requests. Maintain the front-of-house cleanliness, present menus, and stay current on daily specials to answer inquiries. Foster communication between servers and kitchen staff to ensure equitable seating and smooth table turnover. Address guest concerns professionally or escalate issues to management as needed. Complete drawer balancing, assist with bussing, and perform other duties as directed. Maintain alertness, wear uniforms properly, and comply with safety and gaming regulations. Work any shift, including weekends, with flexible hours.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working in the food and beverage industry
- Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure
- Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work
- One (1) or more years of recent and related experience working as a host/hostess
- preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment
- Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English
- Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and hazardous material training
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and cashiering skills
- Has strong customer service skills
- Must wear a gaming license if in possession of one
- Essential duties involve performing physical exertion including constant brisk walking, climbing stairs, crouching, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, and standing for the entire work shift
- Essential duties may require lifting trays containing beverages and food, and lifting up to 30 pounds
- Essential duties involve a flexible work week with additional hours routinely required, working any day of the week, any shift of the day
- Essential duties involve working in a small, confined work area and restaurant environment
- Essential duties require working with large numbers of people
