Job Summary
Greet and seat guests immediately upon arrival, manage the waiting list, and suggestively sell promotions while maintaining proper seating rotation. Handle cash, credit card, and discount transactions accurately, deliver "To Go" orders, and address guest concerns promptly. Portion food according to menu specifications and adhere to safe food handling and temperature regulations. Maintain clean, organized foyer and work areas, monitor waste, and rotate perishable stock to shift par levels. Assist other team members as needed and ensure all Denny's brand standards are met throughout the shift.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to stand and walk during entire shift
- Must be able hear well in a loud environment to respond to employee and guest needs
- Must possess basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
- Must meet any state, county or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling
- Must be able to observe and differentiate between monetary denominations
- Must be able to operate point of sale system
- Must be able to work around potentially hazardous chemicals
- Must be able to work with all Denny's menu products
- Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes in kitchen and freezer areas
- Must be able to portion any food product that weighs less than 10-15 pounds
- Must be able to ask for assistance for lifting anything over 10-15 pounds
- Must be able to ask for assistance with any carrying, grasping, lifting, or pushing anything over 10-15 pounds
- Must have ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Meets Denny's uniform and grooming standards and maintains them throughout the shift
- Must be able to work flexible schedule, including holidays, nights and weekends
- Must have excellent guest service skills
- Must be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions
- Must place a value on diversity and shows respect for others
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must be able to observe and ensure product is prepared and presented to company Brand Standards
- Must have basic math skills, including understanding of units of measure
