Job Summary
Greet guests warmly, manage reservations and waitlists, and escort patrons to tables while presenting menus and taking orders. Liaise between staff and guests to ensure service needs are met, resolve issues promptly, and thank guests upon departure. Answer telephones for to-go orders and reservations, maintain dining room setup and cleanliness, and assist with table busking and front-of-house areas as assigned. This role requires flexible hours including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with physical demands involving prolonged standing, lifting up to 25 lbs, and working in varying temperatures. Prior food and beverage experience and guest relations training are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Prior food and beverage industry experience preferred
- Prior guest relations training
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Positive, upbeat attitude and personality
- Punctuality and reliable attendance
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and other team members
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision
- Must be willing to work flexible hours such as mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Regularly required to stand and walk for a prolonged period of time
- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as lifting, reaching, extending arms over head, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling
- Frequently exposed to elevated noise levels
- Occasionally requires carrying trays of food and bus trays of dishes up to 25 lbs
- Must be capable of working effectively in both a hot and cold extreme temperature environment
