Job Summary
Provide a safe, stable, and understanding home environment for a non-verbal adult with significant behavioral challenges and autism. Manage extreme behaviors with compassion and appropriate intervention strategies while maintaining consistent routines to build trust. Address medical, psychological, and emotional needs by offering guidance in recreation, work, and personal care activities. Collaborate with the care team to ensure continuity of supports and develop Enhanced Life Plans that encourage independence and community contribution. Ensure line of sight supervision and wheelchair accessibility where required. Applications accepted on a rolling basis until the best fit is identified and fully approved.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly autism
- The ability to manage extreme behaviors with compassion and appropriate intervention strategies
- Collaboration with his care team to ensure continuity of supports and services
- Committed to building trust, maintaining routines, and creating an environment where he can thrive despite his challenges
- Able and willing to provide line of sight supervision to higher needs individuals
- Wheelchair accessibility
