Job Summary
Greet guests warmly, manage the waitlist and seating rotation, and answer phones promptly to ensure smooth front-of-house flow. Process payments accurately, handle takeout orders with attention to detail, and maintain cleanliness of the host stand, lobby, and restrooms. Communicate clearly with servers, managers, and kitchen staff regarding seating, large parties, and special requests while monitoring lobby conditions and ADA access. Support to-go order packaging during high volume and follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical handling standards. Obtain a valid Food Handler's Permit prior to starting. Work in a fast-paced environment standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 lbs, and managing guest interactions in high-traffic areas. Required Qualifications
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail when entering orders, quoting wait times, or processing payments
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must obtain a valid Food Handler's Permit/State Food Worker Card prior to the first day of work (per state law)
- Standing for long periods of time
- Frequent walking, bending, and reaching
- Lifting up to 25 lbs. (menus, to-go bags, supplies)
- Working in high-traffic areas with constant guest interaction
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions while managing front-door flow
- This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Employees in this role are entitled to overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek (or applicable state law standard).
