Job Summary
Host/Busser role at Elmer's focuses on creating a welcoming first/last impression, greeting guests, managing the wait list, and assisting servers. Responsibilities include opening doors, welcoming guests, identifying first-time visitors, communicating special needs, processing guest payments, maintaining lobby and restrooms cleanliness, and, when needed, bussing and restocking tables, clearing dishes, and restocking supplies. Requires strong hospitality mindset, warm demeanor, and ability to work evenings and weekends. Must have a valid Food Handlers Card and, where required by state regulations, a valid Alcohol Server Permit. Strong interpersonal skills and reliability are essential for success in this role.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language of the work location and of the Guests who typically visit the work location.
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations and complete computer data entry.
- Must have a valid Food Handlers Card
- Must have a valid Alcohol Server Permit if required by State regulations for serving or cashiering.
- Must have positive interpersonal skills
- Must be able to meet the shifts needs of fluctuating business demands
- Must be knowledgeable of the sequence of service and dining room procedures
- Must be guest sensitive and possess a sense of timing so Guests are seated promptly
- Must make quality decisions relying on experience and good judgement with supervisory assistance by the manager on duty
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
