Job Summary
Welcome guests with a friendly attitude, manage the waitlist and reservations, and escort guests to tables while optimizing turnover. Take and confirm reservations over the phone or via the system, maintain an up-to-date reservation book, and relay guest preferences to servers and kitchen staff. Provide information on menu items and specials, assist with coat check, and handle inquiries with professionalism. Keep the host stand clean, organized, and stocked with menus and promotional materials. Maintain effective communication with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth guest flow.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Friendly and outgoing personality with a positive attitude
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the restaurant for extended periods
- Occasionally lift and carry items up to 20 pounds
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with reservation systems or software is a plus
- Previous host/hostess experience is preferred but not required
