Job Summary
Greet and thank guests upon arrival and departure, manage coat checks, and direct traffic to seating areas. Take reservations, answer inquiries, and communicate messages for guests, management, or co-workers while adhering to established phone policies. Handle special requests, acquire taxi services, and coordinate with valet and security as needed. Maintain knowledge of Black Tap, LLC, including ownership, history, locations, and events. Perform assigned side duties such as cleaning work areas and attend all staff meetings and training sessions. Work all scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays, while demonstrating effective teamwork and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- At least two (2) years of restaurant, club or lounge service experience
- Legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Satisfactory physical and mental health to perform the requirements of the job
- Able to perform the essential functions of the assigned position with or without reasonable accommodation
- Be available and willing to work all scheduled shifts, including working weekends and holidays
- Capable of multi-tasking, leading and communicating with others
- Able to express and exchange ideas in spoken and written English at an above-average level
- Basic familiarity with computers, POS systems, calculators and touch screens
- Ability to stand and walk for up to eight (8) hours during a shift
- Capable of carrying up to 30 lbs. and exerting up to 50 lbs. of force
- Maintain reliable transportation to get to work on time
- Regularly attend all staff meetings, training, informational and education sessions
- Demonstrate knowledge of Black Tap, LLC including ownership, history, locations, service and meal hours, frequent guest benefits and events
- Be dressed in proper attire and acceptable footwear
- Recognize potential intoxicated, disruptive or undesirable guests and notify a Manager
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- College, culinary or bartending education
