Job Summary
The Host at Ajax Tavern handles guest arrivals with a friendly, professional welcome, presents menus, and manages seating to ensure fair table allocation and timely service. Responsibilities include greeting guests, communicating wait times, assisting servers, clearing and resetting tables, stocking and cleaning the bar area, supporting side work, answering reservation inquiries and basic resort questions, and handling waitlists. The role may include duties as a restaurant server, food runner, or busser, and occasional snow removal. Sup port requires the ability to stand for long periods and work nights, weekends, and holidays. Education: High School graduate preferred; must be 16+ and proficient in English. Knowledge of guest service principles, POS systems, reservation/seating management, menu offerings, and allergies is advantageous; ability to multitask, stay organized, and work well with a team is essential. The position is seasonal full-time with benefits and may require flexible scheduling.
