Job Summary
Greet guests upon arrival, escort them to assigned tables, and manage the waitlist while maintaining accurate reservation records. Coordinate with waitstaff and kitchen to ensure timely seating, answer telephone inquiries, and confirm reservations with precise information. Provide menus and wine lists, explain specials, and handle guest concerns or complaints professionally. Maintain a clean host stand, monitor the dining area for proper table setup, and assist in coordinating special events or private dining reservations.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Host or Hostess in a fine dining or upscale restaurant
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Professional and polished appearance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with reservation management systems
- Basic computer skills
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Positive attitude
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and service standards
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle guest concerns or complaints in a professional and diplomatic manner
- Familiarity with the local area
- Active Food Handler Certification
