Job Summary
Greet and engage guests with a friendly, courteous demeanor while ensuring prompt recognition and seating. Manage reservations and plot server sections using OpenTable, answering phones professionally and handling inquiries efficiently. Maintain knowledge of menus and daily specials, keeping service areas clean, stocked, and organized. Perform opening and closing duties, deliver room service orders, and follow safety protocols including emergency procedures. Attend required meetings and trainings, and demonstrate flexibility to cross-train in other hotel operations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a hotel or a related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Active listening and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to anticipate guest and operational needs
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to apply and understand information, policies, and procedures
- Flexibility to cross-train in other areas of hotel operations
- Professional appearance and grooming in compliance with company standards
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- Flexible and long hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly
- Ability to stand during the entire shift
- Ability to maneuver throughout the dining area
- Willingness to learn and operate OpenTable for reservation system management
- Knowledge of menus, daily specials, and outlet offerings
- Warm, approachable demeanor and commitment to providing attentive, service-oriented hospitality
- Knowledge of emergency procedures
