Job Summary
Provide assigned residents with non-clinical care and services under the Charge Nurse's direction. Follow resident assignment schedules, walk ambulatory residents, or push wheelchairs while safely lifting up to 50 pounds. Perform personal grooming tasks including combing hair, nail care, and assisting with oral hygiene and denture care. Answer call lights promptly to address resident requests, manage pre- and post-meal grooming, and maintain water pitchers. Clean wheelchairs, beds, and hygiene items; remove and clean up bodily excretions and spills. Transport residents to activities, assist with building events, and handle clerical functions. Participate in emergency drills and evacuation procedures while adhering to safety guidelines and universal precautions. Report unusual resident conditions or equipment needs immediately to the Charge Nurse. Maintain positive relations with residents, families, and guests while completing special duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate with residents
- Ability to complete assignments while having constant interruptions
- At least 16 years of age
- Ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting in excess of 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- Manual dexterity required performing tasks in assisting residents with their personal needs
- Ability to safely ascend and descend stairwells and assist in an evacuation
- Capability to withstand strong foul odors
- Ability to tolerate wearing necessary personal protective equipment
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance in accordance with facility attendance policies

- Ability to comb hair, nail care (cannot use clippers,) of any residents assigned
