Job Summary
Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, including admissions, daily rounds, diagnostic workups, and discharge planning. Attend interdisciplinary or nursing rounds and communicate health status and treatment plans to patients, families, and hospital staff. Document information for patient care and billing purposes while assisting in workflow reviews and teaching medical students and residents. Oversee the inpatient experience and provide follow-up care for patients in the outpatient realm. Work a flexible schedule involving dedicated inpatient shifts, such as 7-on/7-off models, within an 82-bed acute care hospital in Durango, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate of Medicine
- Current Physician License in the state of Colorado
- Current BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
- Board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician
- Exceptional clinical skills in inpatient medicine
- Passion for providing compassionate, high-value care to acutely ill patients
- Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
- Availability for dedicated inpatient shifts (e.g., 7-on/7-off or similar models)
