Hospitalist - Supplemental

Provide prompt and efficient medical care, including call coverage, to patients assigned to the inpatient service of the Department of Medicine. Collaborate with Emergency Department Clinical Staff to determine appropriate sites of care and work with physicians, nursing, and administrative staff to maximize cost-effective use of clinical resources. Manage care of patients in critical care units with Intensivist support and supervise patient care delivered by house-staff, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Prepare accurate and timely documentation to maximize billing and collection. Communicate clearly regarding patient admission, condition changes, and discharge to clinicians responsible for outpatient care.
